Charismatic authority - The sociologist Max Weber defined charismatic authority, also called charismatic domination, or charismatic leadership, as "resting on devotion to the exceptional sanctity, heroism or exemplary character of an individual person, and of the normative patterns or order revealed or ordained by him". Charismatic authority is one of three forms of authority laid out in Weber's tripartite classification of authority, the other two being traditional authority and rational-legal authority.

General authority - In The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a general authority is a member of a select body of approximately 100 men with administrative and ecclesiastical authority in the church. A general authority's responsibility is church wide, in contrast to the responsibility of a local authority, which relates to a particular area, unit, or department of the church.

The theological impact of accepting the absolute authority of biblical scripture is enormous-especially for women who attend Authority and serve churches.
